Hacks to Stay Gorgeous While Traveling

When traveling, do you often find yourself looking tired, like you haven't slept for days, your skin’s a mess, your hair greasy? With just a little planning, this doesn't have to happen. Most of us are past the age where you can jump out of bed, ready to go.

It's hard to admit, but planning and preparing for travel can be a little stressful. On top of that, the pressure of looking goof while traveling can cause lots of stress in itself. The good news is, there are easy ways to achieve results as having to spend lots of time prepping in front of the mirror.

Quick beauty tips and hacks, on-the-go.

1.Stay Hydrated

Stay hydrated both inside and out. Drink your full quota of water. Not only will your skin look more radiant, but it will provide oxygen to your brain, so you stay alert and positive. The day before you leave, make sure to drink eight glasses of water and try to avoid dehydrating substances such as caffeine, alcohol, and lots of salt. Apart from additional health implications, dehydration is your skin's worst enemy. Don’t forget to hydrate and moisturize your face, especially before a plane ride. Try using our Polisher or Serum+Primer in-flight, to keep your skin glowing throughout your trip.

2. Your Own Dry Shampoo

Before boarding a long flight, dab a little arrowroot powder or cornstarch to the scalp and roots of your hair to keep it from looking and feeling greasy. The arrowroot powder or cornstarch help to absorb excess oils, and will keep your hair looking clean. For a beautiful scent, you can even add a drop of your favorite essential oil to the mix before dabbing onto your hair.

3. Blotting Papers

On a regular day, I am not the biggest fan of blotting papers. However, they can be my best friend when traveling. They can fit right into your pocket or purse, and are essential for quick touch ups. Blotting papers can quickly remove excess oils on the skin, reducing the “shiny look”, and gives the skin an overall pick-me-up look. It can tidy up the face and help brighten dull skin, especially if you are traveling bare-faced or don’t have your powder handy.

4. Lіp Stains

If you find lipsticks too drying, a lіp stain may be your best bet. Before leaving, apply a dab of your favorite lip stain. Allow the color to seep into your lips for a little bіt and then apply a gloss on top of it. You will have fresh looking lips all day.

If you have time, try to exfoliate your lips the night before. All you need is a teaspoon of brown sugar and a little bit of honey. Rub your lips and leave it on for 3-5 minutes and rinse. Exfoliating your lips beforehand will keep your lips soft for your trip.

5. Minimize Puffy Eyes

If you're in for a really long trip, an excellent way to minimize puffy eyes is to use a cold compress. You can also use a fresh towel with ice cubes inside. Wrap in up and place on your eyes for a couple of minutes. You'll feel instantly refreshed. A cold compress helps in removing puffy eyes by contracting dilated vessels.

6. Curl Your Lashes & Skip the Mascara

Leave lashes bare when you are traveling. The long hours of travel can make your eyes tired. You don’t want raccoon eyes when you step out after a long trip. Instead, leave your face makeup free if possible (or apply a little tinted moisturizer and a bit of gloss if you prefer). Curling your eyelashes also help to “open up” and brighten your eyes. You can always opt to not show your tired eyes altogether by throwing on your large Jackie-O sunglasses. Those are timeless and always come in handy.

Remember, you don't have to look stressed and distressed when traveling. These excellent quick tips and hacks will keep you looking fresh and clean, even on the go.
